Synopsis
Shiori, a high school student, wakes up every morning at 7 a.m. to the lively sound of weaving looms, which serve as her alarm clock. Cheerful and kind to everyone, she nevertheless struggles with daily life due to her strong fixations on routines-such as the arrangement of table settings or which foot she steps forward with first. One day, her best friend Mariko submits Shiori's clothing design to a school fashion contest. At Mariko's suggestion, the design was also entered into a fashion show in Ichinomiya City. With Mariko's support, Shiori begins creating her garment.
When her older sister Fumi learns of this, she projects her own past disappointments onto Shiori and finds herself torn between wanting to support her and hesitating to push her forward. Their father, Yasutaka, fiercely opposes the idea, fearing that Shiori might get hurt. However, through her challenge of creating clothing and the many people she meets along the way, Shiori gradually begins to develop a growing determination...

The Weekend Japanese Film Show is a bi-monthly screening event in collaborating with The Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur, featuring a curated selection of Japanese films that highlight the richness, culture, and diversity of Japanese cinema.
Ticketing Information

- Fill in your details, number of pax (max 2 per person) and preferred session.
- Once you complete your booking, you will receive a confirmation email and a digital ticket with a QR

- Bring the digital ticket with the QR code (screenshot/printout/email) to our registration table on the day of the screening.
We will need to scan it to verify your booking. Do not scan the QR at the GSC autogates. - After scanning, a mini-sheet about the film will be handed out. This sheet acts as proof for entrance into the GSC hall.
- Ticket bookings will start on 12 June (Friday) 2026 at 9:00AM.
- Registration counter opens 30 minutes before each showtime.
