Synopsis
Veteran filmmaker Mary STEPHEN investigates the hidden origins of her family's Western surname, uncovering a deeply personal story shaped by colonialism, migration, and contested memories. As she traces her parents' concealed identities and conflicting pasts, Stephen discovers that family history is as much about memory and imagination as it is about truth.

Director's Biography 导演简介
Mary STEPHEN is a Hong Kong-born Canadian filmmaker and editor. Best known for her three-decade collaboration with French New Wave director Éric ROHMER, she also directed acclaimed works including Ombres de soie. In 2018, she was named a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture for her contributions to cinema.
Mary STEPHEN 是加拿大籍香港裔电影制作人及剪接师，以与法国新浪潮导演伊力．卢马长达三十年的合作最为人熟知，亦执导《丝之影》等备受赞誉的作品。 2018年，她获法国文化部颁授艺术与文学骑士勋章，以表彰其对电影艺术的卓越贡献。
