Synopsis
Shy and reserved Jamie, a 12-year-old deaf girl, arrives at a boarding school for the deaf, apprehensive about making new friends and finding her place in an unfamiliar world. When she learns that her beloved grandmother has fallen seriously ill in Paris and finds herself unable to return home for the weekend, she embarks on a spontaneous journey with her fearless classmate Imane.
What begins as an impulsive trip soon turns into an unforgettable adventure filled with challenges, surprises, and unlikely encounters. As the two girls navigate the road ahead, Jamie gradually discovers a confidence she never knew she possessed.
Warm, uplifting, and told largely through sign language, Okedoeibedankt is a touching coming-of-age story about friendship, courage, and finding your voice—even when words are not enough.
