Inspired by Lesya Ukrainka’s timeless play The Forest Song, Mavka: The Forest Song tells the story of a mystical spirit of the forest who becomes the Guardian of Nature. When she encounters a young human musician, Lukas, their connection bridges two worlds, that of humanity and nature, yet also threatens the fragile balance between them. The film explores love, sacrifice, and harmony with the natural world against a backdrop of Ukrainian folklore and mythology.
