The 3rd China-Malaysia Film Culture Festival 2026

The 3rd China-Malaysia Film Culture Festival returns this year, strengthening the cross-border cultural exchange through cinema.  Organized by Lomo Pictures Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with GSC International Screens and supported by FINAS Malaysia, the 3rd Edition of the festival features 7 films spanning a wide range of genres, from thriller, comedy, animation, historical drama and fantasy action, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of contemporary filmmaking in Malaysia and China. 

Some of the offerings this year include, Boonie Bears Guardian Code, an animated adventure suitable for family going audiences, Kung Fu Juniors, which attracted international attention through a  series of festival accolades including Best Film at the 2025 Toronto Chinese Film Festival and Maple Leaf Awards and was also selected for the 62nd Asia-Pacific Film Festival, where it received the Asia Pacific Chinese Cultural Communication Award, and later won both Best Film and Best Director at the 13th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival.

The other movie offerings from China include the comedy hit Successor starring Shen Teng and Ma Li, historical drama Dead to Rights, and the fantasy action adventure A Writer’s Odyssey 2. On the Malaysian front, the lineup includes the horror thriller Indera & the comedy Housekeeping?

The 3rd Malaysia–China Film Cultural Festival 2026 runs across two weekends, from June 26–28 2026 and July 3–5 2026, at GSC Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur. Tickets are priced at RM15 and are available through GSC’s ticketing kiosks and e-ticketing platforms (website & mobile app)
