Bugonia, Yorgos Lanthimos’s dark comic science-fiction thriller film, recognized as one of the American Film Institute’s Top 10 Films of the Year and winner of the Green Drop Award at the Venice International Film Festival, the film was honored for raising awareness about environmental, social, and ethical issues. Hamnet is a profound moving cinematic achievement that captures the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, alongside major honors including Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture under the Drama category and AFI Top 10 Films. Joining the event is, The President’s Cake, a courageous debut by Hasan Hadi, which won the Director’s Fortnight Audience Award at the Cannes Film Festival, marking it as a powerful voice in contemporary world cinema.
