Sensory-Friendly Screenings at GSC
At GSC, we believe everyone deserves to enjoy the magic of movies in a space where they feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed. Our Sensory-Friendly Screenings are thoughtfully designed for neurodivergent audiences and individuals with sensory sensitivities, offering a more relaxed and inclusive cinema experience.
Held every second Sunday of the month at selected GSC theatres, these screenings feature lowered sound levels, dimmed auditorium lighting, no advertisements or trailers before the movie, and a reduced number of guests in the hall—creating a calmer environment for our special guests.
Selected GSC Play halls also offer comfortable seating and an in-hall playground, along with a nursery room that can double as a safe space should your child need a short break. Our friendly staff are always on hand to assist, so parents and caregivers can enjoy peace of mind throughout the visit.
GSC Social Story - Going to The Cinema
Complementing our sensory-friendly movie experience is the GSC Social Story - a helpful visual guide designed to prepare children for a day at the cinema. This initiative supports better understanding and communication, helping families plan ahead and feel more confident about their movie outing.
With a monthly line-up of kid-friendly animated titles, GSC’s Sensory-Friendly Screenings are part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility, understanding, and joyful shared experiences at the movies.

Sensory-Friendly Screening Guidelines
The typical movie-going experience can be stressful for audiences with special sensory needs. We aim to make the cinema more accessible, delivering a magical experience that can be enjoyed by all.
Please read our guidelines and have a safe and enjoyable experience!
- All sensory-friendly movie screenings will have a lowered movie volume.
- Lights will be kept on at a dimmed level throughout the movie. This dimmed lighting will not affect your movie-watching experience in any way.
- Sensory-friendly movie screenings are limited to 2D, animated or family-friendly movies only. GSC will not screen content with violent or aggressive scenes.
- Guests have the freedom to move around the hall during the screening.
- Guests have the freedom to bring comfort items (e.g., fidgets, blankets) to better enjoy the movie.
- Guests with ASD, learning disabilities, and cognitive disorders must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
- Guests with strict or special dietary needs are permitted to bring snacks from home.
- Each Cuddle Couch can support a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children.
- Each Bean Bag can only accommodate 1 adult or child at a time.
- Socks must be worn at all times whilst in the lounge and hall.
- The playground is only for children between the ages of 3-12.
- Please be careful when playing and do take care of your belongings. GSC will not be responsible for any accidents, injuries, damages or loss of belongings.
- GSC reserves the right to change the Guidelines of the sensory-friendly movie screenings at any time.
