In a rural Estonian village in war-torn Abkhazia, Ivo and Margus stay behind to harvest tangerines despite most villagers fleeing. After a deadly clash between Abkhaz-backed Chechen fighters and Georgian soldiers, Ivo shelters the two wounded survivors — Ahmed, a Chechen, and Nika, a Georgian — in his home, extracting a fragile truce from them. As they heal, mutual hatred slowly gives way to respect. Amid growing dangers, including attacks from Russian troops, tragedy strikes: Margus and Nika are killed. Ivo buries them beside his own son, a victim of the war. Ahmed, profoundly changed, departs for Chechnya, carrying Nika’s music — and the scars of a shared humanity born from conflict.
