Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd (GSC) is the leading film exhibitor and distributor in Malaysia. GSC is a subsidiary of PPB Group (a member of Kuok Group). FILM EXHIBITION
GSC has a total of 191 screens in 23 locations nationwide, which include Klang Valley, Penang, Sungai Petani, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, Johor Bharu, Kuantan (Peninsular Malaysia) and Kota Kinabalu (East Malaysia).
GSC also operates Malaysia’s first-ever boutique cinema with only Gold Class and Premiere Class halls: GSC Signature – in The Gardens Mall, KL together with three F & B outlets (Paradiso, Cafe Caro and Dessert Bar). GSC Signature provides an enriching experience via the spacious interiors, thick plush carpet, luxurious surroundings and attentive staff.
The 18-screen GSC Mid Valley, currently the largest multiplex in South East Asia and other flagship cinemas (Pavilion KL and 1 Utama) offers cinema-goers the ultimate movie going experience with a Gold Class auditorium, International Screens and an Audio Visual convention auditorium.
GSC introduced digital 3-D films in June 2008 and digital 2-D films in May 2009. Currently, GSC has 58 digital halls nationwide which includes the largest digital hall - a 555-seater GSC Maxx on the 10th floor, Berjaya Times Square.
GSC launched a customised co-branded credit card in 2009: the GSC-Hong Leong Credit Card (formerly known as GSC-EON Bank Credit Card) which offers discounted ticket pricing (for adult tickets), concession and F & B in-dining for the movie patrons.
Besides movies, GSC halls also cater for events like gala premieres, press conferences, product launches and seminars. GSC cinemas provide comfortable seating with facilities like wide screen projection, Digital and LCD projector for full audio-visual presentation for event organizers.
Innovative facilities are part of GSC’s on-going commitment to enhance the cinema going experience.
GSC was the first in the industry to introduce online ticket purchase in Malaysia via GSC E-Payment ticketing which is available at 21 locations. GSC then introduced GSC SelfPrint in 18 locations (inclusive of Gold Class and GSCMaxx) whereby patrons can choose to print their own tickets with 2D barcode to be validated at the entrance checkpoint.
GSC also marked another milestone as the first cinema operator in Malaysia to launch a mobile application– GSC Mobile App (iPhone & Android) which enables movie-goers to purchase tickets via m2u mobile, PayPal account or “RHB Now” (Android only) on their smartphones. Patrons are able to enjoy the “ticketless” option by scanning the 2D barcode on their smartphone screens at the selected cinema checkpoints.
